Copy That is made by Codeaxolot. The short version: we don't collect your recordings, your transcripts or any personal data. We don't run servers that see them, and the apps contain no analytics or ads.

Your recordings

• When you press the button, your Apple Watch or iPhone records audio.
• The recording is sent to your own private iCloud storage (Apple CloudKit), in your Apple Account. Only your devices can read it. We can't.
• Your Mac downloads it and turns it into text on your Mac. The audio isn't sent to any transcription service.

Your transcripts and history

• The text is placed on your Mac's clipboard and, if you allow it, pasted into the app you're using.
• Recordings and transcripts are kept in your private iCloud storage and in a history folder on your Mac so you can copy them again. You can open that folder from the Mac app's menu and delete it at any time.

Speech model download

The first time you use the Mac app, it downloads an open-source speech recognition model. That download doesn't include any of your audio or text.

Permissions

• Microphone on Apple Watch and iPhone, used only while you're recording.
• Accessibility on Mac, used only to press ⌘V so the text is pasted for you.

Purchases

The Apple Watch unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your payment details.
